Titanium's fatigue limit is ~450-550 MPa โ€” about 10-15% lower than 300M in absolute terms. But when you factor in density, titanium's specific fatigue strength is 40-50% higher (100-124 vs 66-83 MPaยทcmยณ/g). This means a titanium rod of the same fatigue capacity weighs 35-40% less โ€” less reciprocating mass = higher RPM ceiling and lower bearing stress.

Titanium's absolute fatigue limit (450-550 MPa) is 10-15% lower than 300M's (520-650 MPa), but titanium's specific fatigue strength (fatigue limit รท density) is 40-50% higher โ€” 100-124 vs 66-83 MPaยทcmยณ/g. That means every gram of titanium carries more fatigue load than a gram of steel. Combined with 44% weight savings, titanium rods dramatically reduce reciprocating inertia, making them ideal where 9,000+ RPM acceleration and throttle response matter more than peak boost pressure. GT3, Formula, and high-RPM NA builds choose titanium for this reason.
