โก Specific Fatigue Strength
Titanium's fatigue limit is ~450-550 MPa โ about 10-15% lower than 300M in absolute terms. But when you factor in density, titanium's specific fatigue strength is 40-50% higher (100-124 vs 66-83 MPaยทcmยณ/g). This means a titanium rod of the same fatigue capacity weighs 35-40% less โ less reciprocating mass = higher RPM ceiling and lower bearing stress.

Titanium's absolute fatigue limit (450-550 MPa) is 10-15% lower than 300M's (520-650 MPa), but titanium's specific fatigue strength (fatigue limit รท density) is 40-50% higher โ 100-124 vs 66-83 MPaยทcmยณ/g. That means every gram of titanium carries more fatigue load than a gram of steel. Combined with 44% weight savings , titanium rods dramatically reduce reciprocating inertia, making them ideal where 9,000+ RPM acceleration and throttle response matter more than peak boost pressure. GT3, Formula, and high-RPM NA builds choose titanium for this reason.

Under 1,000 HP? 4340 โ the proven workhorse.
1,200+ HP on big boost? 300M โ highest strength, toughest under extreme cylinder pressure.
High-RPM NA or track build where 9,000+ RPM is the goal? Titanium โ 44% lighter for faster revs and better throttle response.
Why compare them by HP? Because titanium and 300M serve different jobs. 300M = brute force for max boost. Titanium = light weight for max RPM. Pick the right tool for your build.
