Piston Ring Pinning & Clocking: Why It Matters for High-Boost Builds

In high-boost turbo builds, piston rings can rotate in their grooves, causing end gaps to align — a direct path to blow-by and ring failure. Proper ring pinning locks the rings in position, while correct clocking (offsetting gaps at 120° or 180°) ensures minimal leakage past the sealing faces. JA-Modified machines precision ring pin grooves into every custom forged piston order, with clocking positions verified per application. Whether you're pushing 40+ psi on a 2JZ or building a compound-boosted diesel, pinned and clocked rings are non-negotiable for cylinder pressure retention and ring longevity.
